Press Play Records Poster Ads
This project was an expansion of the Press Play Branding Project. To create a great ad, I used brand colors, a white version of the brand logo, as well as record shapes to create an immersive-yet-simple design.
Created to draw in listeners with a simple, quickly-readable design, this poster is composed of three posters combined into one ad.
Either of the side posters contains half of a record shape, which is split by the matte black middle poster. These two posters were designed to have an easily readable phrase to promote the brand. The center piece is pulled together by the other posters and contains the primary information needed.
Across the posters is the phrase "need a break from the ads? buy now for ∞ minutes of ad free listening." This is a play on the Spotify ad that plagues Spotify users that don't pay for premium that says: "want a break from the ads? Click now for 30 minutes of ad-free listening." However, often listeners don't feel as if they've gained 30 minutes of ad-free listening after watching a few ads.
But records will never betray you like that.

01
Left Poster
Created to draw in listeners with a simple, quickly-readable design, this poster is composed of three posters combined into one ad.
Either of the side posters contains half of a record shape, which is split by the matte black middle poster. These two posters were designed to have an easily readable phrase to promote the brand.
The words throughout the posters combine to form a slogan that mocks Spotify ads by sounding like the common Spotify ad that says: "Want a break from the ads? Click now for 30 minutes of ad free listening."
Vinyls will never make you suffer through ads.

02
Middle Poster
The center poster was designed to resemble a vinyl jacket, with continuing slogan text in the center, the logo on the upper right, and details about a sale at the bottom left of the poster.
The information about the sale informs viewers that it's a week long and in-store.
The tan corners create both a more unique shape for the black background, and a connecting element to the tan backgrounds of the right and left posters.

03
Right Poster
The right poster of this design finishes the slogan throughout the other two posters, bringing the ad to a close.
The half-vinyls create a subconscious understanding that the ad is completed with just the three posters. The circles enclose the primary information while highlighting the side information.
With brand icons on the top left of the left poster and the bottom right of the right poster, they inform viewers through instinct that these side posters are included with the center poster as one ad of the same brand. In addition, they balance off the empty space in the posters and align with the tan corners in the middle poster, pulling everything together.

Poster Mockups
Altogether, this brand came together very well and was a very neat project to experiment with.
It goes to show that not all posters have to be a single-page ad or flat information. Designs can expand across multiple mediums to create a cohesive and unique end result.
